Paint correction is a multi-stage polishing process designed to remove defects in your vehicle’s clear coat and restore a deep, glossy finish. This includes swirl marks, light scratches, oxidation, water spotting, and haze that build up over time from improper washing and environmental exposure. At SNR Mobile Detailing, we use machine polishing techniques to safely refine the paint without damaging the clear coat, dramatically improving clarity and reflectivity. Every vehicle is different, so correction levels can range from a light enhancement polish to more intensive multi-stage correction depending on condition and goals. The result is a noticeably sharper, cleaner finish that enhances both appearance and long-term paint health.
Paint Correction
-
Paint correction is the process of using machine polishing to remove imperfections in your vehicle’s clear coat such as swirl marks, light scratches, oxidation, and water spots. It restores clarity and gloss rather than just masking defects.
-
Paint correction removes most light to moderate surface defects, but it cannot safely remove deep scratches that have gone through the clear coat or into the paint. We always evaluate the paint first and set realistic expectations before starting.
-
Paint correction is permanent in the sense that once defects are removed, they don’t come back on their own. However, new swirls and scratches can form over time depending on washing habits and maintenance. Proper care or protection (like sealants or coatings) helps preserve results longer.
-
In most cases, yes. Ceramic coating locks in the condition of the paint underneath it. If swirl marks or defects are present before coating, they will be sealed in and more visible under the added gloss.
-
Depending on vehicle size and condition, paint correction can take anywhere from a few hours for light enhancement to a full day or more for multi-stage correction. We’ll always give you a clear time estimate after inspection.
